Last week, we booked tickets to see One Man, Two Guvnors at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket. The tickets were just £10, but we were at the very top of the theatre, in the gallery, and the seating was really just cushioned benches rather than actual seats. Never the less, the view was good and the seats were fine.
The show is nothing short of comic genius. I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud, let alone cried with laughter, at the theatre show. The combination of slap-stick routines, witty one liners and clever audience participation makes it a fantastic performance all round. The show is based around a very basic story line; essentially there is only one man and he has two guvnors, so it follows him trying to juggle his responsibilities between the two. You wouldn't think that the simple act of moving a suitcase from one end of the stage to the other could be so comically impressive. Go and see it!
