Filth

Filth is the film adaptation of Irvine Welsh's novel of the same name. Rarely does the title of a film quite so aptly epitomise its feeling, its plot, its characters and, well, its entirety. This film is pure filth. In a good way. Dangerously close to being a repeat of Trainspotting's Scottish filth, but seeing as it is the same author this can be forgiven, accepted as a cult film in its own right. James Mcavoy gives an outstanding performance as an Edinburgh copper. Just don't watch it with the parents I would say!

“That’s the beauty aboot being polis: it doesnae really matter whether or not everybody hates you, as long as they’re civil tae your face and can put up a good front.”
