The Book Thief

Coming out later this month, The Book Thief is a cinematic adaptation of Markus Zusak's modern classic. The film stayed true to the book, with a gripping story of both factual atrocity and fictional endurance. Narrated by 'death', the concept of loss is central to the story, and make this a guaranteed tear-jerker. Although not without it's flaws (it does drag ever so slightly, and the odd switching between German and English), it is a really good film, leaving you sobered yet not despairing.
